A full week – 10 GB

Abu Dhabi and Dubai – 20 GB
Both cities on one trip, no second purchase.
Working from Al Maryah – 50 GB

Coverage and network
What the network actually does here
United Arab Emirates mobile networks
The UAE holds first place worldwide for mobile download speed, at 673 Mbps. That is roughly 3.4× the US and 9× the UK. Worth knowing before you pick a size: at those speeds a 10 GB allowance drains faster than the same plan would at home, because nothing throttles your video quality down. Abu Dhabi, specifically
- Corniche, Saadiyat, Yas: Full signal along the waterfront and on both islands, including inside Yas Mall and the Louvre. Indoor coverage in the UAE is unusually good.
- Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque: Works throughout the complex and the car parks. The one place people notice a dip is deep inside the prayer halls.
- Liwa and the dunes: Signal follows the highways south, then thins once a desert tour leaves the tarmac. Camps in the Empty Quarter are a coin flip.

Frequently asked questions
Where to buy a SIM card in Abu Dhabi?
du and e& (Etisalat) both have counters at Zayed International, open extended hours. You'll need your passport. If you'd rather skip the airport process entirely, a travel eSIM like Ohayu can connect you to supported networks like du or e& after you land.
Do I need to show ID to buy a SIM card in Abu Dhabi?
Yes. TDRA (the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority) requires tourists to register with a passport and a copy of the UAE tourist visa. Travel eSIMs for the UAE, like Ohayu, are not subject to these regulations because they are data-only and no local phone number is assigned.
Does the eSIM cover the whole UAE or just Abu Dhabi?
It covers the entire UAE - Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah and more. There's no Abu Dhabi-only plan.
eSIM not working in Abu Dhabi?
Coverage here is strong enough that a failure is usually a setting. Check the Ohayu eSIM is your selected data line and that roaming is on for it, then cycle Airplane mode. Chat and support@ohayu.com are open 24/7.
