Best Places to Travel in February

February is full of travel options. My top choices for this month are the Swiss Alps or Quebec City for cold weather, the Maldives or Costa Rica for a hot beach vacation, or Asian countries like Japan or Bhutan for a unique cultural experience.

Recently, I’ve listed the top locations to visit in January. I recommend you also check those, because in terms of weather, these two months are quite similar, and you can find more alternative places for your next trip.

Other February travel recommendations

Book flights and hotels early. Install travel apps like Google Travel, Airbnb, iExit, and TripAdvisor. These are big lifesavers.

Get an international eSIM, like Ohayu. It is a convenient mobile internet option for travelers, and here is why:

  • No hidden fees and often lower prices than home operator roaming fees.
  • Quick activation – you get a QR code in the app, scan it, and toggle on the eSIM in your phone settings when you arrive in the destination country (activation requires Wi-Fi). It doesn’t require physical store visits or waiting in the queues.
  • Flexibility – you can upgrade, downgrade, and cancel eSIM anytime using the iOS or Android app.
  • No ID verification or local currency needed; the purchases are online with a suitable payment method.

If you plan a short trip or plan to visit one country, choose your destination (e.g., Switzerland), pick a data package, and activate it when you arrive in Switzerland (within 30 days after purchase).

Country-eSIM-Switzerland

If you are a frequent traveler and plan to visit several countries in one month, a global eSIM can be cheaper and more convenient than a country plan.

Additionally, be sure to check if your phone supports eSIM (most newer models do).
