How much mobile data you need
What's the best eSIM for Las Vegas?
Weekend – 3 GB
Maps, rideshare, photographs.
A longer stay – 10 GB
Navigation and calls across the week.
Vegas and the canyon – 20 GB
Road trip to Arizona or Utah.
Trade show week – Unlimited
Tethering a laptop, with the congestion caveat above.
Coverage and network
Coverage on and off the Strip
United States mobile networks
The Strip has some of the densest cell infrastructure in the country, because it has to handle a resort corridor that regularly holds several hundred thousand people. That engineering is why speeds usually hold up in a packed casino floor, and why a convention week is the one time they will not. (Speedtest by Ookla, June 2026)

Vegas, specifically
- The Strip and Fremont: Dependable outdoors and inside the resorts, including deep on the casino floors where there are no windows.
- Convention weeks: CES and the larger trade shows put enormous simultaneous load on the same cells. Expect slow spells around the Convention Center and the host resorts. Local SIMs get the same treatment.
- Red Rock, Valley of Fire, Hoover Dam: Coverage follows the highways out. Once you are on a hiking trail or a scenic loop road, it goes, and desert routes toward Death Valley have long empty stretches.
Nevada and everywhere else
One plan, all 50 states. Handy here, since a lot of Vegas trips are really Vegas plus Arizona or California.

Frequently asked questions
Where to buy a SIM card in Las Vegas?
There are AT&T and T-Mobile kiosks at Harry Reid, and a Walmart or Target off-Strip will undercut them significantly. An eSIM avoids the stop.
Do I need ID for prepaid in Nevada?
No - it is federal, not state, and there is no requirement. Nothing is verified for an eSIM either.
Will it work inside the casinos and during CES?
Inside the casinos, yes - the resorts have dense in-building coverage, so windowless floors are not a problem. During CES and other big shows the towers around the Convention Center saturate and everything slows, on every network. Book a plan with headroom if you are working that week.
eSIM not working in Las Vegas?
Slow speeds during a major convention are congestion, not a fault. If there is no connection at all, check the Ohayu eSIM is your active data line, that roaming is enabled for it, and cycle Airplane mode once. Chat and support@ohayu.com run 24/7.
