Real Quebec conditions
- Québec City & Old Quebec: Strong coverage throughout the walled old town, Petit Champlain and the Plains of Abraham. Thick stone walls can weaken indoor signal in the oldest buildings.
- Charlevoix, Saguenay & Gaspé: The scenic drives are covered in the towns and along the main routes, with gaps between villages. The Gaspé peninsula loop has some genuinely quiet stretches.
- The far north: Be clear-eyed about this: north of the populated corridor - the Côte-Nord, Nunavik, and the vast interior - there is effectively no mobile coverage from any carrier. That is remote-Canada territory, not an eSIM limitation.
One eSIM, the whole country
Quebec is just one province - this eSIM covers all of Canada. Keep the same plan for Ontario, the Maritimes, or out west.

Frequently asked questions
Where to buy a SIM card in Quebec?
There are Rogers, Bell, Telus and Vidéotron stores in Québec City and Montreal and in the larger regional towns. A travel eSIM like Ohayu means arriving connected instead: install before you fly and after landing it can connect you to supported networks like Rogers, Bell or Telus.
What do I need to buy a local SIM?
Legally, nothing - Canada registers no prepaid lines. Practically, a Canadian billing address or credit card is what several activation flows want, and in Québec City the shop conversation will start in French. Neither applies to a plan bought before you leave home.
Will it work in Charlevoix, Saguenay or the far north?
Charlevoix and Saguenay are fine in the towns and along the main routes, with gaps in between. The far north is a different matter - the Côte-Nord, Nunavik and the interior have effectively no mobile coverage from any carrier, so anyone heading up there should plan around satellite communication rather than a phone.
Why isn't my eSIM working in Quebec?
Out in the Charlevoix hills and along the north shore, coverage thins between villages. When it is none of those, the culprit is nearly always the data-line setting. Choose Ohayu, permit roaming, flip Airplane mode. Otherwise chat and support@ohayu.com are open 24/7.
