Hyderabad, specifically
- HITEC City, Gachibowli, Madhapur: Excellent 5G. This is as good as Indian mobile data gets.
- The old city, Charminar, Laad Bazaar: Covered, but the lanes around Charminar are narrow and permanently crowded, and the bangle market slows at weekends. Signal is there; throughput dips.
- Golconda Fort and Qutb Shahi tombs: Fine across the site. The fort's inner chambers and the stepped passages are stone and drop out.
- Hussain Sagar and the Tank Bund: Well covered along the lake.
- Ramoji Film City and the outskirts: About 25 km out and covered, though the site is huge and the far corners of it are thinner.

Where to buy a SIM card in Hyderabad?
Operator stores throughout the city and counters at the airport. Foreign passports go through manual checking, so expect a delay between buying and using.
Is one part of the city better covered than another?
Yes, and unusually so. HITEC City and Gachibowli have very strong 5G because the tech campuses there require it, while the old city around Charminar is adequate rather than fast, and gets congested in the crowded bazaar lanes. If you are working, the west side is the place to be.
Do I need an Indian address to buy a SIM?
You need one for the KYC form, and a hotel booking satisfies it. You will also need your passport and visa, and then to wait for a person to review them. None of that applies to an Ohayu plan, which issues no Indian number.
eSIM not working in Hyderabad?
