Lanzarote, specifically
- Puerto del Carmen, Playa Blanca, Costa Teguise: Well covered across the resort strips and the roads linking them.
- Timanfaya national park: The visitor centre and the coach route have coverage. You cannot walk freely in Timanfaya - access to the fire mountains is by official coach only - so this is less of a navigation problem than it sounds.
- The Jameos del Agua and Cueva de los Verdes: Volcanic tube caves, and no signal inside. The surface entrances are covered.
- The wind: Lanzarote is windy year-round, which is why it draws surfers and kitesurfers to Famara. The wind does nothing to the network but it does drain a phone you keep pulling out on a beach.
- La Graciosa: The eighth Canary island, a short ferry from Órzola. Covered in Caleta de Sebo and thin elsewhere - it has a few hundred residents and sand roads.

Is coverage good across Lanzarote?
Better than on the steeper Canaries, and the reason is architectural: building heights are capped island-wide and the terrain is low and open, so there is less to block a signal. The gaps are underground in the lava tubes rather than behind mountains.
What do I need to buy a Spanish SIM here?
A passport at an operator shop in Arrecife - Spain registers physical SIMs against an identity document. There is a counter at the airport too. It is quick, though the shop choice on the island is limited compared with Tenerife or Gran Canaria.
Does the plan cover La Graciosa?
Yes - it is part of the Canaries and therefore Spain. Coverage there is concentrated in the one village; the sand tracks and the beaches beyond it are thin. The ferry from Órzola is 25 minutes and holds signal for most of it.
