Mykonos, specifically
- Mykonos Town and Little Venice: Good signal, though the whitewashed lanes were designed to confuse pirates and they will confuse your map too - GPS drift in the narrow alleys is common and not a data problem.
- The beach clubs: Paradise, Super Paradise, Scorpios and Nammos all put large crowds on one stretch of sand with a single cell nearby. Afternoon and evening uploads slow noticeably in July and August.
- Ano Mera and the interior: Quieter and covered. The island is small enough that there is nowhere genuinely remote.
- The old and new ports: Both covered. Worth having data at the new port, where the ferry and cruise transfers are a scrum.
- Delos: The archaeological island is a 30-minute boat trip and coverage there is thin - it is uninhabited apart from the site staff. Take the map with you.
Mykonos and the rest of Greece

Where to buy a SIM card on Mykonos?
A handful of franchise outlets in Mykonos Town, with summer hours. Passport needed, as everywhere in Greece. Prices on the island run above the mainland for most things, SIMs included.
Why does my map wander in Mykonos Town?
That is GPS rather than your data connection. The lanes are deliberately narrow and winding, and the whitewashed walls bounce the satellite signal around, so the blue dot jumps between alleys. Having a working connection does not fix it - most people end up navigating by landmark.
Does the plan cover the boat to Delos?
The crossing is short and you will hold signal for much of it, but Delos itself is sparsely covered - it is an uninhabited archaeological site. Download what you want to read about the ruins before you go.
