Coverage and network
Coverage old town to the south cape
Greece mobile networks
Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese and long enough - about 80 km - that the north and south ends feel like different places. The resort strip and Rhodes Town are thoroughly covered. The south towards Prasonisi is thinner, and Turkey is close enough to complicate things.

Rhodes, specifically
- Rhodes Old Town: Covered, though it is a walled medieval city with very thick stone and some deep vaulted lanes where signal drops for a few metres. The Palace of the Grand Master is solid stone and weak inside.
- Faliraki, Ixia, Kallithea: The resort strip has dense coverage built for the summer load.
- Lindos: Good in the village and up at the acropolis. The donkey path and the narrow lanes below have occasional dead spots.
- The south, towards Prasonisi: Coverage thins past Gennadi. Prasonisi itself, where two seas meet, has service at the beach but the road down is patchy.
- Near the Turkish coast: Marmaris is about 40 km away and your phone may try to register on a Turkish network along the east coast. Turkey is not covered by a Greek plan, so keep an eye on which network you are actually on.
Rhodes, Greece - and not Turkey
The plan covers all of Greece, including Kos, Symi and the rest of the Dodecanese. It does not cover Turkey, which is a short ferry away and needs its own plan.

Arriving on Rhodes
Airport Wi-Fi at RHO
Diagoras airport runs the Fraport network - free, with a welcome page in the browser. It is one of the busier Greek island airports in summer and the terminal is small for the traffic it takes.

Frequently asked questions
Where to buy a SIM card on Rhodes?
Operator outlets in Rhodes Town and along the resort strip, plus a counter at the airport. Passport required for registration. The south of the island has very little, so buy in the north if you want local prepaid.
Will my Greek plan work on a day trip to Marmaris?
No. Turkey is a separate country and a separate plan, and the ferry from Rhodes to Marmaris takes under an hour - close enough that plenty of people do it without thinking about data. Your phone may even latch onto a Turkish network from the east coast of Rhodes, so check the network name if something looks wrong.
Is there signal inside the Old Town walls?
Generally yes, but the medieval walls are metres thick and there are vaulted passages and stone interiors where it drops out for a stretch. The Palace of the Grand Master is the clearest example. Step into a courtyard and it returns.
eSIM not working on Rhodes?
Deep inside the Old Town stonework a drop is normal. If you are on the east coast, check you have not registered on a Turkish network - that is outside the plan. Otherwise select Ohayu for mobile data, allow roaming, cycle Airplane mode. Chat and support@ohayu.com are open 24/7.
