Coverage and network
Coverage inside the parks
United States mobile networks
Orlando is a special case. The resorts run park apps that now handle ride reservations, mobile food orders and wait times, so a day at a theme park is genuinely data-dependent in a way most holidays are not. The good news is the parks are engineered for exactly that load. (Speedtest by Ookla, June 2026)

Orlando, specifically
- Park apps are the real workload: Virtual queues, ride reservations and mobile ordering all need a live connection, and you will check them dozens of times a day. This is why people burn more data here than they expect - budget above what a normal city break would need.
- Inside the resorts: The estates have dense in-park coverage plus their own guest Wi-Fi, and it holds on peak-capacity days. Queue lines and indoor rides are covered.
- I-4 and International Drive: Continuous along the corridor and around the Convention Center, which is among the largest in the country and fills completely during big trade shows.
- Kennedy Space Center and the coast: Covered at the visitor complex and along the Beachline. It thins on the quieter stretches of Merritt Island.
Orlando and everywhere else
One nationwide plan, so a drive to Miami or the Keys afterwards needs nothing more.

Frequently asked questions
Where to buy a SIM card in Orlando?
MCO has kiosks at a premium, and there are Walmart and Target stores near the resort corridor selling the same prepaid SIMs for less. With an eSIM the park app is ready to use once you switch it on after landing.
Do US stores need ID to sell a prepaid SIM?
No. There is no federal registration requirement for prepaid, so a card off the shelf at a Walgreens needs nothing from you but payment. Same for an eSIM.
How much data does a theme park day actually use?
More than most people plan for. The resort apps poll constantly for wait times and virtual queue positions, you will reopen them repeatedly through the day, and then there are photos and videos going up in the evening. A family sharing one hotspot gets through it faster still. If you are doing a full week of parks, size up rather than down - a 3 GB plan will not comfortably last.
eSIM not working in the parks?
Park apps sometimes fail for their own reasons rather than the connection, so try loading any other site first to check you actually have data. If not, confirm the Ohayu eSIM is your data line and roaming is on, then cycle Airplane mode. Chat and support@ohayu.com are open 24/7.
