Zakynthos, specifically
- Zakynthos Town and Laganas: Covered thoroughly. The east coast resort strip is built up and well served.
- Navagio (Shipwreck Beach): The clifftop viewpoint has signal. The beach itself is at the bottom of a 200-metre cliff reachable only by boat, and coverage down in the cove is poor to nonexistent. Take the photo from the top if you need to post it.
- Boat trips and the Blue Caves: You lose signal once you round the headlands. Trips run two to six hours - agree a return time rather than planning to phone.
- The west coast road: Runs high along the cliffs with good coverage and long drops. Some of the switchback sections shadow the signal briefly.
- Turtle-spotting in Laganas bay: Close to shore so coverage holds. The bay is a protected nesting area for loggerheads, and boat routes are restricted - worth reading the rules before you book, offline if need be.

Where to buy a SIM card on Zakynthos?
Outlets in Zakynthos Town and seasonal shops in Laganas and Tsilivi. Passport required. The mountain villages in the north have nothing, so do not leave it until you are up at Volimes.
Is there signal at Shipwreck Beach?
At the clifftop viewpoint, yes. Down in the cove, no - the beach sits under a 200-metre cliff and you can only get there by boat. Plan to be offline for the visit, and take your photo from the top if posting matters to you.
Do boat trips stay in coverage?
Only near shore. Once the boat rounds the headlands towards the Blue Caves or Navagio you will lose it, and trips can run several hours. Fix a return time with whoever is waiting for you before you leave the harbour.
