Benidorm, specifically
- Levante and Poniente beaches: Well covered - the network is dimensioned for a summer population many times the resident one.
- Inside the towers: The one caveat. Reinforced concrete high-rises attenuate signal, and a room in the middle of a large block can be noticeably weaker than the balcony. Hotel Wi-Fi is usually the better indoor option.
- The old town and the Balcón del Mediterráneo: Covered. The lanes behind the church are narrow but low.
- Terra Mítica and the theme parks: Covered across the sites, and busy enough in August that uploads slow at peak.
- The Sierra Helada and the coastal path: The cliff walk towards Albir has coverage along most of it, thinner on the seaward side of the ridge.

Alicante airport, then the coast
There is no airport at Benidorm - you land at Alicante-Elche, 50 km south, and take the bus, the TRAM or a transfer. The AENA Wi-Fi at ALC covers the terminal, and the hour up the coast is where you will want your own data.

Why is signal weaker in my hotel room?
Benidorm is built of reinforced concrete high-rises stacked close together, and that is close to the worst case for getting a signal indoors. A room deep inside a large block will be weaker than the balcony or the pool deck. Hotel Wi-Fi is the sensible indoor answer; your own data is for when you go out.
Where to buy a SIM card in Benidorm?
There are operator outlets along Avenida Mediterráneo and in the shopping centres, and Spain registers physical SIMs against a passport or EU ID in store. Given you have already passed an airport counter at Alicante, it is worth deciding before you get on the bus.
How do I get here from the airport?
Alicante-Elche is the usual arrival, 50 km south. The direct bus takes about an hour; the TRAM tram-train is slower and more scenic. Neither is complicated, but both are easier with a live timetable than with a printed one.
