Coverage and network
Coverage city, huerta and Albufera
Spain mobile networks
Valencia is Spain's third city and unusually flat and compact, which makes for even coverage across it. The interest is at the edges - the rice paddies of the Albufera, and one week in March when the city fills up and starts setting off explosives.

Valencia, specifically
- Ciutat Vella, Ruzafa, the City of Arts: Strong 5G throughout. The Turia riverbed park runs the length of the city and is covered end to end.
- Las Fallas: Mid-March, and the defining event here. Hundreds of thousands of people fill the centre for the mascletà - a daily daytime fireworks barrage - and the network slows badly in the packed streets. Agree meeting points; you will not hear a phone ring during the mascletà anyway.
- The Albufera: Twenty minutes south, and coverage thins over the rice fields and the lagoon. The boat trips out among the paddies drop out.
- The metro and the tram: Covered, including the airport line into the centre.
- The beaches and the port: Malvarrosa and the marina are well covered - the America's Cup redevelopment left good infrastructure behind.
Spain, and the EU
One plan covers all of Spain - Valencia, Madrid, the Balearics, the Canaries - with EU roaming beyond it.

Frequently asked questions
What happens to data during Las Fallas?
It slows, sometimes a lot. The March festival packs the centre and the mascletà draws enormous crowds into a few squares, which is more load than the local cells enjoy. Data works for messages; video uploads will wait. Practical advice: fix meeting points in advance, because between the crowds and the noise a phone call is useless.
Where to buy a SIM card in Valencia?
Operator shops in the centre and in Nuevo Centro, plus an airport counter. Spain registers physical SIMs in store against a passport or EU ID. The metro from the terminal takes twenty minutes, so it is easy to do either at the airport or in town.
Is there coverage in the Albufera?
Thinner than in the city. The rice fields and the lagoon south of Valencia have fewer masts, and the boat trips through the paddies lose signal. It is only twenty minutes out, so download the map before you go.
eSIM not working in Valencia?
During Las Fallas, slow means congestion. Out on the Albufera, gaps are real. In the city, check Ohayu is your mobile data line with roaming enabled, then toggle Airplane mode. Chat and support@ohayu.com are open 24/7.
